Paul Bobby, Managing Director

Paul led the 2018 management buyout from Rod Houghton, founder and previous owner.  Paul joined WHP as Factory Manager when the business moved to its current site in Stanford-in-the-Vale in 1993.  Since then he has overseen the growth and expansion of the business to its current 20,000 sq ft capacity.

Paul’s technical background is processing-based; starting his career at Owen Mumford as a trainee setter in 1980.

David Eyles, Director – New Projects Manager

David started his engineering career serving his apprenticeship and working as a tool-maker with Oxford-based County Industries.  David joined WHP as the Engineering Manager in 1995 and now leads the New Projects Team, managing the smooth transition from customer concepts to bulk production.

Frank Crawley, Director – Production Manager

Frank’s expertise is in lean manufacturing management, having learned this discipline in the UK automotive sector.  Prior to WHP, Frank was a Continuous Improvement Practitioner at the Honda Motor Company for over fifteen years.

Colin Voller, Director – Quality and Operations Manager

Colin began his career in plastics as a setter under the tutelage of former owner Rod Houghton.  He assisted in the growth of WHP in its formative years.

In 1988 Colin took over the Quality Assurance department at WHP, ensuring a strong quality bias for the business and integrating this function within all other disciplines at the company.

Following the WHP MBO Colin added the role of Operations Director to his responsibilities.

Nick Allen, Director – Engineering and Tooling Manager

Nick’s father and grandfather made their careers in the plastics sector and Nick began his working life with a four year Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship at AEA Harwell.  Subsequent to joining WHP Nick has led the technical evolution of the company; creating new products and IP and also troubleshooting and solving a variety of tooling and moulding issues.
